Fairbanks Day 7

Well my preceding posts were rather lengthy, so I’ll keep this one short for you guys. Tomorrow morning I leave bright and early and after a 6-hour flight that will stop through Anchorage, and St. Marys I will finally arrive in Kotlik, Alaska. I am equally parts nervous and excited as I only have an inkling of what to expect and after many phone calls (to the point I that couldn’t bring myself to call anymore out of politeness) I still don’t currently have a place to stay. But it will work out, its part of the Journey and I’m not too worried about that right now. From what I have been told Kotlik sounds like a wonderful place and I’m going to learn a lot and probably grow a lot. My main worries stems from: “Will I like fish? Will I remember all my training? Will I make new friends?” and so on and on with silly little questions that I already expect positive answers to. As I’m not sure about anything right now I will say that I will continue to write blog posts everyday, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to upload them everyday, so they may come in a wave when they do, but they will eventually get posted.
So today I slept-in, I ate lunch, I read a book, I called my parents for Fathers Day (Happy Fathers Day Dad!), I did some laundry, I ate dinner, I packed, and I wrote this post. Now I will finish packing, post some pictures to facebook hopefully, read some more, sleep, wake up early, and go to the airport. All together a nice relaxing and calming day.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Fairbanks, It was wonderful, I had a lot of fun, saw awesome things, and learned much. I will return one day, hopefully sooner than later, and hopefully many more times than just once. Fairbanks truly is amazing and I love it here. In fact I just love Alaska in general so far, it’s a great state to be in and in many ways it really is still the final frontier. Though I may be better able to comment on that in 29 days when I leave Kotlik for Colorado.
Mbe mbe n'goré!!
